When I was six years old I joined Cub Scouts. Shortly after I joined I learned of the importance of obtaining the rank of Eagle. Through my years in Scouting I have learned many skills in camping, first aid, knot tying and many others. The most important skill that I learned to me is leadership skills.
In my troop I have served in many leadership positions. Troop 171 was just starting when I joined and I was the first Senior Patrol Leader. In each position I used many leadership skills. During my Eagle Project I used many of the leadership skills that I learned in scouts to plan and carry out the project. After I reach the rank of Eagle I plan to stay in Scouting and help new scouts advance through the ranks. After I graduate from high school I plan to attend college and pursue a degree in engineering. This careen will require numerous leadership skills.
Leadership skills raught to me by Scouting have already enabled me to participate in many activities.
The many leadership skills I have learned in Scouts has already enabled me to participate in many activities and they will help me greatly in the future.
